Seeking asylum involves a journey beyond just going from one point to another; it is an effort to create a new hope from previous traumas. This series represents the effort of extending the hope of living a fulfilling life, catastrophically taken away, to another location. Refugees are common to daily politics; every refugee journey comprises merely the heavy experiences between life and death. The rising colours in “Extended Hope” represent the hope that displaced people in various parts of the world can rise against all odds. A hope of inspiration for humanity as well as us… The “Extended Hope” series is limited to 100 pieces. Each is handmade and thus has unique forms. The number located at the bottom left corner is the piece number of your drawing.
